Volunteer
The Malaria Clinical Trials Center is conducting clinical research study on malaria. Malaria is a deadly disease that affects 300-500 million people around the world every year. Nearly a million people die every year unnecessarily from malaria, most are children under the age of five. In fact, a child dies every 30 seconds from malaria. A malaria vaccine and improved drugs to prevent and treat malaria are urgently needed.
Currently there is no FDA-approved vaccine for malaria. We hope to one day develop vaccines that may prevent people from getting malaria and to limit malaria disease and deaths around the world. There are FDA approved drugs to malaria, but we may also study new drugs for treating or preventing malaria.
We are looking for healthy volunteers to take part in an upcoming clinical research study. You may be able to participate if you:
- are a male or non-pregnant female between the age of 18-50.
- are HIV negative and are in general good health.
- have no history of being diagnosed with malaria.
- live in the Seattle or surrounding area.
